The Blarney Stone is a great Irish Pub... run by some expats from Ireland.

Hit up the Yuyuan Garden for a great "authentic" shopping experience. The pearl market is also there.

The Bund is a good place to kill time... lots of good restaurants/roof top bars in that area ("M on the Bund" is great w/good views at night)

People's square is kind of cool.

Watch out for scooters on the sidewalks and try not to die on the roadways... If you don't know what I mean, give it time. LOL.

If you're there for that long, you should make the trip to to Beijing and go see the great wall/Forbidden city, etc.

and/or

Hop a plane to Hong Kong or to Tokyo for the weekend... You've made the hard 13hr trip to get to that side of the world.. You should take advantage of where you are and get out to see all the big cities you can. They're all only 2-3 hours by plane and flights are cheap.
