G-Drive gets Ligier-Nissan for COTA

G-Drive Racing will have a new Ligier JS P2-Nissan for the next round of the World Endurance Championship at Austin's Circuit of The Americas.

Roman Rusinov, Olivier Pla and Julien Canal won the first two races of the season at Silverstone and Spa in their Morgan-Nissan LM P2, but retired in the Le Mans 24 Hours when the No. 26 was involved in a collision with another car. The Russian team will now enter a Ligier JS P2 powered by the Nissan engine built by Onroak Automotive for the 6-hour WEC race at COTA.

Pla, who was heavily involved in the car's development, is delighted with the team's switch.

"After the long break in the WEC I can't wait to be in Austin on this very quick and technical circuit," he said. "We're determined to pull back the points we lost at Le Mans."
