besides being wrong on the BMW engines nomenclature and capacities (I6 not V6, both are 3.0L

you missed my point that to produce a car for sale in the USA is needs to have the engine certified, this is a very expensive process.

BMW does make smaller and lighter engines in other countries, BMW can not bring those engines into the USA vehicles without a major investment.

BMW is not going to spend a ton of money to make a vehicle less powerful, and less desireable to consumers. The amount they'd have to spend may even make the less powerful motors more expensive then the motors currently offered.
