See I see it differently. David A. may have a better voice in general, but it's a better voice for that genre he's after. Cook, has the better voice for his genre. David A. lacks any emotion and soul in his songs. He completely butchered 'Imgaine'. There was no pure emotion in his voice. To sing a song like that you have to bleed your heart out, and express it how Lenon sang it. He failed miserably.
Cook on the other hand has that emotion in his voice. Especially singing 'The World I Know'. Simon was wrong, it was the perfect song for him. He chose to sing a song that had meaning to him, because of all he's seeing in his life right now. Almost every time he sings, you have a sense of emotion come through the song. All of the great "rock" artists give you that.
I thought Simon was dead wrong except for the 2nd song. But you could tell Cook was pretty much throwing that song, his eyes said it all. That the write in song contest is gayer than gay. And all the songs he had to choose were gay.

I agree. A lot of people say he doesn't have what Daughtry has, but I think he's better. As I said before, Cook is perfect for a lead singer in a band, not a solo artist. I think his personality is one that feeds off of others, and not himself alone. He seems like he wants to share the fun he's having with everyone.
