all you have to do is move your stick knob to the left (this activates sports mode). To engage in manual mode, just push it up or down once. It will display what gear you are in on your dash. M2 (manual 2nd gear), M3 (manual 3rd gear), etc.

Thanks.. Already found out after other people told me and further research. Ended up getting a 335i w/o sports package for $9,000


Couldn't pass up on that price no matter if it had paddle-shifters or not. And I must say, 335i in manual mode has got some power. My old 325i with mods wouldn't stand a chance. All these mustangs and camaros ( a lot where I live) underestimate BMW's
