Love is simply a word. Because it is a word used to desribe an emotion or feeling, everyone interprets the word "love" differently. This word is used to describe a connection they feel towards something or someone.
Because the word love is used to decribe the connection, and interpreted differently by each individual, only the individual using the word love can know what it means.
Basically, only YOU can know what the word love means, so either you know you love someone or something, or you don't.
