We didn't have troops in Liberia (thanks, Obama!), and anyone we had could go through quarantine procedures before returning to the US (think Ellis Island). And not sure how it would make things worse for us if Ebola spreads in isolated countries? On the contrary, it might allow us to be more focused in our support/relief efforts for those countries if we don't have to be distracted with addressing the problem on our shores.
The isolation practices served the US well for the past centuries, but for some reason we have abandoned them since 2010. I believe it's political correctness run amok, that is now catching up to us.
