Hey sorry to hear, Poldim. I hope you get well soon. Stomach (or intestinal [Peptic]) ulsers are usually caused by the bacterium
Helicobacter pylori. You had an endoscopy done (I couldn't get the pics to load, though) but did they do a blood test? Are h. pylori antibodies present? Or is there another cause, since you mentioned the pathology may be genetic?
This shouldn't be too big of a deal as once the bacterium is killed off (or possibly an other cause), the lining should start to heal again. It's going to be a while, and not being able to eat anything spicy during summer sure sucks!
