True.
I started around early 1998 during my undergrad years with about fraction of a fraction of 100k. At that time, it was "luxury" to have a dialup or those huge analog celluar phone.
I remember I had to pay $ to Ameritrade to get a
non-streaming real-time quotes (after certain amount of numbers).
When I was working for financial company after I graduated, I linked my email to Motorola Nextel i-1000+ to receive my email trade confirmation forwarded to handset. People at the firm thought it was real hightech,and asked me how. I believe it was about 14kb/s speed.
