Very true. Without a doubt the game in the last 20 years has gotten faster, the athletes are the best ever, and popularity has never been higher. Yet because of the old men in Geneva, the officiating has stayed exactly the same on the field for decades. The referees might be able to run marathons now, but they still only have two eyes, and the two-way radios that they use between them and the linesmen, sorry, assistant referees, apparently haven't done the job of fixing issues.
