My last LLC transfer for a customer ran about 14 weeks mailbox to mailbox.

LLC, trust, nonprofit corp etc. are all good choices, it just depends on your particular needs, with trusts seemingly the most chosen option lately. Given the penalties for having NFA items improperly, I'd certainly look to have a lawyer set up a trust just to make sure it is as airtight as possible. Some say that Quicken Will Maker with a notary stamp will be just as good, but is this something you really want to go cheap on? A few hundred bucks sounds like cheap insurance to me....

The benefit of using a corporation or LLC structure is that it is basically endorsed by the state in which it was organized in. If you don't have the proper documents, then the state doesn't grant you the certificate of incorporation.

And yeah, I'd love to have a KAC PDW too! A few years ago I got a chance to tour the Knight's facility in Florida. HOLEEEEEEEE SHIIIIIIIIIITTTTTT is it badass. Reed Knight's weapons collection is amazing.
