I had a 7 owner 1997 4Runner with over 300k miles and had been in a few accidents according to Carfax. As with all cars I buy, I go ahead and change all the fluids. Turns out the radiator and trans cooler is one unit and the fluids had mixed. When I drained the trans fluid, it looked like strawberry milkshake and I thought this trans was for sure dead.
Changed radiator (under $100), added new trans fluid and drove the car for years before I sold it for more or less same price.
So yea, I have a soft spot for Toyota trucks/SUVs.
