The tiny cabin is done!
The last step was to install a military surplus cargo net about 30 feet in the air, suspended over the cabin. The cabin is surrounded by a couple 120+ foot tall Doug Fir trees that are pretty brittle and like to toss down big tree branch missiles during wind storms. The idea is to catch, contain, or hopefully just slow them down before impact. Hopefully eliminating or at least minimizing damage. It's really great to have friends with an old utility company bucket truck. Man that thing is handy!
A couple folks have DM'd me asking what this thing cost to build. We did 100% of the work ourselves, with the exception of the steel roof which a buddy of mine did for a steep discount off "retail". I totaled up the receipts today and we are sitting at $16k all in, including the structure, electrical (solar, 3k watt inverter, batteries, lighting), kitchenette with fresh and gray water tanks, decoration, etc.
First camp out is tonight!
