The first figure, (3.7) is measured in litre, hence the "L". The second (3.9) is in US quarts. The third (3.3) is in imperial quarts. An imperial quart is 38.43 fluid ounces whilst a US quart is only 32 fluid ounces. Since there are more ounces in the imperial quart, it takes fewer of them to fill the sump. Likewise with the litre. It has more ounces than a US quart so takes fewer for the same volume. Imperial units are not used in the United States.
