Dynamically, the Z8 suffered from *not* having an LSD. Why BMW simply didn't use the one from the E39 M5 like the rest of the drivetrain is unknown. In any event, the torque of the S62 is hard enough to control with the LSD -- without it, one-tire-fire rules the day.

The other drivetrain oddity of the Z8 is that it came with a clutch delay valve which the E39 M5 did not have. Same transmission, same engine, same clutch disc and pressure plate. Odd.

Removing the CDV and installing an LSD, as numerous early on users did (before this thing turned into a collectible), transforms the car.
