My car would be use the spaceframe/plastic body construction pioneered by GM in the late 1970's (used to build the Fiero, Staturns, and Transport). It would be front engine and rear drive (no AWD crap). It would come in a 4-door sedan and a 2 door sedan like the E30. It would have a 2.0L direct injected in-line 6, 6-sp manual trans and a LSD diff. It'd be engineered to weigh 2,500 pounds and safety would be achieved by use of Styrofoam cores in the doors, and front and rear fenders, and in the bumpers. The spaceframe would be injected with epoxy foam to add sound deadening and rigidity. The EPS would be what BMW used for the E86 Z4 and seats would be the same as the E86 Z4 sport seats. It would probably look close to an E30 too .

Well, you asked...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
