If you are just adding a sub then what your saying is kind of confusing.
You never mention what your going to add to the I assume base system
to bring the rest of the system to a decent state.
The reason to recode to Hi Fi is to add and amp and better speakers
bring the base system up to a decent level without having to add
a cleansweep or DSP . Some people do it to feed a more balanced signal
low level signal into a DSP.
I think there is now follow on for the cleansweep but its pretty expensive
you might as well get something like the Helix 82dsp which includes decent
per channel output and superior dsp.
The issue of adding sub is a separate subject .
But if you add a sub and sub amp without upgrading the rest of the system
it won't be able to keep up.
You may need an icoma cable to actually recode to Hi Fi .

I don't think you need anything to de eq the sub because its a sub
it doesn't do that wide of a frequency range. See first link. Its the
high frequency range of the base system that is most of the problem
in regards to eq.
