Especially since the M2 isnt really a slim baby.. the cars weight is 3,461 lbs and in that sense in no way comparable with the 2002. Sadly, I feel that the only reason why they connect back to their great, old cars is to simply boost hype for the new car in addition to making a stupid attempt at being poetic.

Again, one can only dream of BMW actually making a ballsy move of creating a true successor via the M2...M2 CSL hopefully delivers, right? 400hp, 3000lbs or less, resculpted fenders that actually flare out a-la 1M (not that I hate the M2's current fenders)?

(I still like my idea of an S65 powered, aggressive, and light E89 Z4M better.)
