I think a better dedicated track/autox car would be a e36 m3. Out of the box i think it drives very well and is good enough to track. It also has a lot of aftermarket support since its not TOO old. Only downside is they can be pricey.

Im really thinking about going with this route. The 335 is extremely heavy for track. It does have the power, but i feel like im dragging the car along. In small tight courses, my e92 gets passed with ease by underpowered light weight cars. Plus, like you said, if any damages occur, its going to cost a LOT to get repaired.
