As well, there are plenty of people who hear something once and don't remeber the details when it comes to their car. My brother in law is still convinced his 750 is a V12 because the dealer told him so. A count of the cylinders wouldn't even change his mind.

I understand and I respect when they would decline like you did. But obviously the owner agreed to it and was most likely excited about hes M and to top it off I can BET that he's reasoning would be that he tuned and modified it to be faster then the m equivalent
